As part of an annual tradition, which our CFO knows only too well, it is impossible to resist the temptation to buy a new ski jacket at some point during the early part of a new season. To be specific, when you arrive for your first day on the slopes in last year’s gear, you can’t help but wondering “will the liftie notice my two-timing it?” … and constant thoughts of “boy this is just embarrassing.”
Over the weekend, I stumbled in to a local Boston store and ran square in to a new brand, Mammut. For those of you who don’t know, it is from Switzerland (you know, a little place in Europe, where the beer flows like wine and the women all tan topless at apres). I resisted the urge to spend $600 on ski jacket (yeah, that’s right – 600) – but to be clear, I can’t stop thinking about it. We will have to see where this season brings us, but it will likely involve this killer green and black Mammut.
