Sunday River is First EC Resort Open

October Skiing on the East Coast - Shades of My Childhood

Sunday River is now open for the season (with one lift servicing one trail).  They received 3 inches of natural earlier this week, and they’ve been blowing guns around the clock.  I’m generally not a fan of Sunday River (too flat, too spread out, too low, best Apres place is a drive away) but they just went up about 8 notches in my book.  For the past decade there has been a trend of East Coast resorts opening later and closing sooner, and it is great to see a mountain reverse that.  Hopefully, others will follow suit (I know for a fact that Sugarbush got 3 or 4 inches recently as well – open by Halloween?).

Anyone got any plans to head up?  I’m still on IR from the ACL surgery, otherwise I would think about getting a day in now that fishing season is basically done.
