With the warm weather poking around the corner for many who live in ski towns and like climates… new outdoor activities quickly become the lifestyle until the snow comes back.  New activities don’t neccesarily mean that Apres no longer exists.  Take for example the Artemis Transat (; a single-handed sailboat race across the Atlantic ocean… that’s right… all alone for the better part of 2 weeks flying at 20 knots on a 60-foot, sporty, “on-the-verge-of-out-of-control” Open-60 sailboat.  The competitors average about 2 hours of sleep per night, while constantly getting woken up by alarms that sound at slight changes in wind direction, nearing objects (ie. iceburgs or freighters), and of course a wipe-out.  The finish-line is just off Boston harbor, and I am guessing the sailors will be good and ready for a little Apres on arrival!
