Spring-Time at Alta

Alta – located in the Wasatch Mountains and slightly east of Salt Lake, is famous for getting totally dumped on year after year.  With a base of about 8,500 and summit at 10,500; the mountain publishes is average annual snow-fall since opening its doors in 1939 at 514 inches (that is 1,306 cm for our Canadian readers).  One of other real treats about this spot is that it still prohibits snowboarders!  Fellow Apres-enthusiast Lindsay was out there last week, and in typical Alta fashion there was tons of snow and blue-bird days.  The only draw is that the Mormons only serve 3.2’s… so when you go to the bar, enjoy the beer, and remember that you can drink more of it!  Thanks Lindsay for the report!
